Governance Program

September 24 - 26, 2008

Santa Fe Courtyard by Marriott

 

Sponsored in partnership with Santa Fe Community College Leadership Training Institute, this course is designed  to teach today’s municipal officials the essentials of good leadership and help participants hone their skills and abilities as leaders.  Topics covered during this course include:

 

· Identify the eight prerequisites for Peak Governance Leadership

· Own the ability to face up to making tough decisions

· Awaken and inspire the best in people and our communities

· Practice continuous personal learning and development as a leader

· Obtain a valid assessment of the public’s concerns and evaluation of the governing body’s performance

· The principles of strategic policy-driven governance leadership processes and the performance habits of highly-effective governing bodies

· Practicum on “big picture -long range” thinking, team work, partnerships, and disciplined actions

 

Prerequisite: Completion of at least the first segment (2 days) of the Education Program.

 

Requirements:  Completion of one 2.5 day session.

 

The 2008 Governance Program will be held September 24 - 26 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Santa Fe.  It begins at 8:00 am on Wednesday and ends at noon on Friday.
